Dados os elevados condicionalismos que a organização espacial atual apresenta, e a pobre qualidade dos seus elementos físicos, que acabam por criar espaços interiores não ventilados e não iluminados, propõe-se a demolição do edifício existente e a ampliação da área, através da adição de um novo piso.

No piso 1 está prevista a construção da área mais social da habitação, ao albergar todos os espaços comuns. A entrada, marcada por um imponente tom de azul que contrasta com o branco das fachadas, encaminha-nos para uma zona de estar e de refeições diretamente ligados com a cozinha que funcionam em open space, perfeitamente articuladas entre si. Dada a falta de luz natural e ventilação no edifício, houve uma preocupação cuidada em criar mais vãos, dando assim mais qualidade aos espaços interiores.

Ainda no piso 1 temos acesso a uma instalação sanitária de serviço, um espaço de arrumos e uma área técnica. As escadas, desenhadas de forma a criar um “elemento” que proporciona uma fácil circulação entre pisos, estão localizadas na lateral da habitação dando-nos acesso ao piso superior.

No piso 2 estamos perante a área de caracter mais privado de todo o edifício, dispondo de dois quartos, cada um com a sua instalação sanitária própria e ainda uma área de circulação que nos conduzirá até à cobertura, sem interferir na vivência dos restantes espaços.

Este projeto presenteia-nos com a tradicional açoteia e característica chaminé, elementos que marcam a arquitetura desta cidade piscatória. Um espaço de convívio dotado de cozinha exterior e de zona de lazer.

Tendo em conta o seu exterior atual, sem qualidade arquitetónica, procurou-se melhorar os alinhamentos e métrica dos vãos de fachada e dar-lhe embelezamento através dos tradicionais frisos em massa, melhorando consequentemente tanto a estética como a salubridade do edifício, assim como a sua integração na cidade.

Given the high constraints that the current spatial organization presents, and the poor quality of its physical elements, which end up creating non-ventilated and non-illuminated interior spaces, it is proposed to demolish the existing building and expand the area, through the addition of a new floor.

On the 1st floor, the construction of the most social area of the house is planned, housing all the common spaces. The entrance, marked by an imposing shade of blue that contrasts with the white of the facades, leads us to a living and dining area directly connected to the kitchen that works in open space, perfectly articulated with each other. Given the lack of natural light and ventilation in the building, there was a careful concern to create more spans, thus giving more quality to the interior spaces.

Still on the 1st floor we have access to a service sanitary installation, a storage space and a technical area. The stairs, designed to create an “element” that provides easy circulation between floors, are located on the side of the house giving access to the upper floor.

On the 2nd floor, we are facing the most private area of the entire building, with two bedrooms, each with its own sanitary installation and also a circulation area that will lead us to the roof, without interfering with the experience of the other spaces.

This project presents us with the traditional roof terrace and characteristic chimney, elements that mark the architecture of this fishing town. A social space equipped with an outdoor kitchen and a leisure area.

Taking into account its current exterior, which lacks architectural quality, efforts were made to improve the alignments and metrics of the façade spans and give it beautification through traditional mass friezes, consequently improving both the aesthetics and the salubrity of the building, as well as the their integration into the city.
